Lookout for the spectacular displays of Blackthorn in flower in early spring, especially near Arthur's pond.

Oak is the dominant canopy tree on the Common.

This heather and acid grassland mosaic habitat is rich in wildlife and can be seen on the golf course.

Kingfishers have been spotted on both Seven and One Island ponds.

The Purple Hairstreak butterfly is often seen near large oaks on the woodland/grassland edge during June/July.
