Hosepipe ban: Mitcham Golf Club Irrigation

For the last 4 years, Mitcham Golf Club has had its own water source that has stopped the need for them to draw irrigation water from the mains. The control and monitoring of the water levels comes under the Environment Agency jurisdiction. The Club manages this resource sparingly and only waters Greens and Tees when absolutely needed and never waters the many acres of fairways and approaches.

Mill Green

Mill Green

Visitors will have noticed a change in grassland management on Mill Green this year. On two areas of the Green, the mowing regime has been relaxed so that grass will be maintained as a meadow throughout the spring and summer and will not now be mown until the autumn. This enhancement will benefit both plants and insects by providing a more suitable habitat for them to utilise.
